BDO Pets: Fix Loot Pickup, Plan Exchanges, and Pick a T5 Alpha

Confirm the pet is checked out, Fetch is on, and hunger is above zero. Zero hunger means no looting or talents. Then test where the pet can actually reach the drop.

Tier, Cautious or Agile behavior, pickup speed, and loot density all interact, so a working low-tier or Cautious group can still feel slow. Change one thing at a time; do not exchange a pet just because one test looked bad.

Feed the pets you actually run and confirm their behavior before the grind starts. Talents and learned skills come from the checked-out, fed group—not every pet sitting in your collection.

Some abilities also need a toggle and follow current stacking rules. A grind group prioritizes steady pickup; a Life Skill or utility group may want different bonuses. Save the group and recheck it after changing activities.

Pet tier progression uses exchange, type rules, and inheritance choices. Decide which appearance, talent, and learned skills you need before combining anything valuable.

Do not feed random duplicates into an exchange just because a higher tier is possible. Trust the current exchange preview and probability on screen, and cancel when the inheritance choices or pet types are not what you intended.

The official Tier 5 path begins with a suitable Tier 4 pet and uses Royal Plume through Obi Bellen at Old Wisdom Tree. Choose the pet only after its long-term role, appearance, talent, and inherited skills are acceptable. Tier 5 training is not an ordinary reversible exchange step, so finish the normal exchange decisions first. If the required interaction is unavailable, verify the pet's current tier and state, the training material, the NPC, and any official prerequisite rather than buying more pets blindly.

A trained T5 can be appointed Alpha for the Pack Leader benefit. Pick a pet that will stay useful across the sessions where that group runs—not simply the first pet that reaches T4.

Confirm the Alpha and active group before judging the result. If loot still sits on the ground, check movement, kill density, checkout, hunger, and the full lineup instead of blaming every problem on the Alpha choice.

Fix the immediate loot problem first. Make the permanent account investment only after the group works.
